After some communication breakdowns occurred with a complicated order, one of The New Wheel’s owners, Brett, came out to the Oakland shop in person to help me test ride different shifter options as I have a chronic hand injury. The Oakland shop also allowed me to do some reality-checking test rides, like filling panniers full of 2-gallon buckets (I’m a gardening coach) and loading the model of bike I wanted into my car to make sure in advance that it would fit. Now I will be getting my ideal bike in a couple of weeks! Thank you so much!

Beyond Superbly kind and helpful. One does not have purchasing experiences like this EVER in this century. So impressive! Throughout the entire process of figuring out which bike to buy (including reasons I’d never have considered) to the purchase and personal instructions upon picking up of bike - I received excellent support. The inventory is totally sufficient yo find a great bike in decent price range. They showed me every part of the bike’s operation, maintenance and best safety lessons to ensure a great long lasting experience. Also provided handout with all necessary info and options for protection, repair, insurance. No hard sell, just excellent product knowledge to address all my concerns and questions. Great team who seem so happy to work together, enthusiastic abt e-bikes. Highly recommended. Dump the car and get an ebike. They’re so much fun to ride! New Wheel Oakland is simply the best!

I’ve gone to the New Wheel service center in SF for repairs. They did an excellent job patching both me and my bike up after a minor accident. (Lol) They had bandaids handy and they were able to quickly get a quote for repairs. Folks were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. When I decided to start looking for a bike that better meets my needs I scheduled a test ride at the Oakland store. They suggested bikes I hadn’t really considered. It was the opposite of an up-sell; Robert pointed out several less expensive options that could potentially work for me. I never felt rushed, just offered information and given options. I knew I wanted to get my next bike at New Wheel. Everyone I’ve met there has been genuinely passionate about cycling. Everyone has been approachable and kind. It’s been a few years since I first dropped into the repair center for help with a flat. I’m super excited to upgrade my ride, knowing these folks will keep me rolling for years to come.

Fantastic experience at The New Wheel Electric Bikes in Oakland! The owners and staff were knowledgeable and helpful, and Kansas did a great job walking me through the bike setup and answering all my questions. Highly recommend—I’ll definitely be back for future bikes!

Both Jacob and Kansas were both so easy to work with. They are extremely knowledgeable about electric bikes and listened carefully to me about what my needs were and what was important to me in a purchase. They had lots of great suggestions and worked with me all through the decision-making process until my final choice of e-bikes without ever pushing unnecessary items. I had a great experience that was fun instead of stressful. Even though The New Wheel isn’t the closest bike store to me, it will definitely be my go-to store for everything bike related.
